A dog, that was found by an animal rescue team with his “ears hacked off”, is still looking for his forever home.
A spokesperson for Homeless Hounds said: “Bruce has been with Homeless Hounds for a few weeks now.
“When poor Bruce came into our care, he was in a terrible way. Someone had cut his ears off and his body was covered in horrific wounds.
“In spite of this, Bruce remains a sweet and gentle lad. His wounds have been treated and they have healed well, hopefully in time the fur will start to grow back.
“Bruce’s body has been through so much and still needs plenty of TLC, we’d love to see his dull, dry skin and coat looking shiny and healthy again.”
Homeless Hounds said: ”Bruce has defied all odds and his resilient character shines through. He’s such a lovely lad and is quick to make friends and eager to please.
“Bruce gets excited when he first meets a new dog, and he will pull towards them, but he just wants to walk with his new pal and have a mutual sniff.
“Bruce could possibly share his home with another calm and sensible dog, with a long and steady period of introductions, firstly out on walks and then in the home.
“Bruce enjoys a tasty treat and he knows how to do a lovely sit, and he revels in being told what a good boy he is.
“He pulls a little on the lead when he initially goes out but he’s not unmanageable. He responds really well to encouragement to walk at heel.
“It looks like Bruce is house trained because he is clean in his kennel. He hasn’t chewed anything, not even the soft bedding in his kennel.
“He’s calm and settled in his kennel unless he thinks one of his human friends is coming to visit and then he gets excited! Bruce enjoys playing with a ball and loves bum scratches.”
