A WHITE boxer was left tied to a lamppost in Hull after being dumped by their owner.
Local resident Graham Dobson, 43, found the dog “looking sad and scared” and was told he’d been left there for more than an hour.
Mr Dobson kept an eye out for the owner and watered the dog while he waited. But when the owner failed to show up, he finally called for a dog warden.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: “I came to work in the morning and found the dog tied up on the main road looking sad and scared.
“I got told by other people that he’d been tied up for more than an hour, and I fed and watered him as he’d been left with nothing and then called the dog warden to pick him up.
“It was heartbreaking to see he had been left and how upset he was, as he was a real nice dog and so friendly. He was really scared.
“I don’t understand why people would just dump a dog. I love animals and don’t want to see them abandoned or mistreated.
“He must have been just sat there not knowing why he had been left and wondering if his owner would come back. I just hope that now the dog warden has him that somebody will be able to give him the good home that he deserves”.
Furious residents slammed the owner for dumping the dog on Scott Street in the north of the city.
Pamela Jones said: “B******! Whoever they are. What a beautiful dog he is…I hope he finds a loving home.”
Gladys Shearsmith added: “Hoping he will find a home he is deserving of. Why would anyone do this? Poor little thing?”
