One day, a 13-year-old South African boy from Delft (one of the poorest communities in Cape Town) walked a full 2 miles alone to save many of his cubs.
He noticed that his dog stopped eating and began to have bloody diarrhea, so he stepped forward to ask for help.
He walked 2 miles into the city to the animal rescue center to help care for the local dogs and cats. A staff member of the rescue organization Stöckigt said:
“She was very thin and therefore the boy told us he didn’t have enough money for food for her. We told him that we might try our best to save her life and find an alternative home that can take care of her. We thanked him for bringing her to us for help.”
It clothed that the pup, called Nanuk, was affected by a lethal illness called parvovirus, and she or he wouldn’t have survived without treatment.
In order to cheer up Nanuk, other foster kittens in the shelter regularly visit her.
“I think it’s a mixture of the kittens, having one among us by her side the entire time giving her love and encouragement…” Stöckigt said. Rescuers are designing a home full of love for Nanuk.
If she wasn’t getting to eat, Nanuk was getting to die.
Thank God for the great heart of the little boy who saved her life!
Now, Nanuk is working hard to find a home forever!
